Corrections gets new buses and vehicles

The law funds Nevada Corrections to refresh transport vehicles. It provides $5,154,386 in FY 2025-26 and $43,446 in FY 2026-27 to replace vehicles. It also provides $2,861,657 for passenger buses and vans and $225,750 for refrigerator trucks, starting July 1, 2025. FY 2025-26 vehicle funds cannot be committed after June 30, 2026 and must return by September 18, 2026. FY 2026-27 vehicle funds, and all bus/van and refrigerator-truck funds, cannot be committed after June 30, 2027 and must return by September 17, 2027.

Gear and training for correctional officers

The law provides $1,313,733 for equipment and training for correctional officers, starting July 1, 2025. Funds cannot be committed after June 30, 2027. Any unused money must be returned by September 17, 2027.

New office chairs and furniture

The law funds office furniture for Nevada Corrections. It provides $123,308 to replace executive office chairs and furniture and $71,604 to replace chairs in Correctional Programs, starting July 1, 2025. Funds cannot be committed after June 30, 2027. Any unused money must be returned by September 17, 2027.

New prison medical and dental gear

The law funds medical and dental equipment for Nevada Corrections. It provides $324,664 in FY 2025-26 and $39,939 in FY 2026-27, starting July 1, 2025. FY 2025-26 funds cannot be committed after June 30, 2026 and must return by September 18, 2026. FY 2026-27 funds cannot be committed after June 30, 2027 and must return by September 17, 2027.

Upgrades to prison computer systems

The law upgrades IT for Nevada Corrections. It provides $161,526 in FY 2025-26 and $133,153 in FY 2026-27 to replace network gear, starting July 1, 2025. It also adds $103,347 to replace computer hardware and software starting July 1, 2025, and $341,630 for server hardware and software starting July 1, 2026. FY 2025-26 network funds cannot be committed after June 30, 2026 and must return by September 18, 2026. All FY 2026-27 and one-time IT funds cannot be committed after June 30, 2027 and must return by September 17, 2027.
