Beginning July 1, 2025, the state funds new and replacement gear at High Desert State Prison. Laundry: $1,083,520 in FY2025-26 and $19,992 in FY2026-27. Warehouse and kitchen: $495,706 in FY2025-26 and $1,965 in FY2026-27. Security gear: $62,708 in FY2025-26 and $23,289 in FY2026-27. It also funds $57,742 for security and safety items, $80,981 for vehicles, and $36,345 for kitchen gear. Medical gear: $20,410 in each year. Office and visiting chairs: $71,840 (FY2025-26) and $5,200 (FY2026-27). Smaller items: $13,870 in each year. Money must be committed by June 30 of each fiscal year. Unspent FY2025-26 money reverts by September 18, 2026; FY2026-27 money reverts by September 17, 2027.
