New task force to expand transit to trails

Beginning July 1, 2025, the law creates the Transit-to-Trails Task Force. The Legislative Commission appoints members from state, local, and federal land agencies, plus two public members. The Task Force meets quarterly and elects a chair and vice chair. It must find high‑priority places where public transit can better reach outdoor recreation, and seek federal and private grants to expand service. It must send a report by August 31 of each even‑numbered year to the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau, who sends it to the Joint Interim Standing Committee on Growth and Infrastructure. The Task Force ends on October 1, 2030.
