UNLV and UNR get planning money

The state provides $6.2 million to UNLV to plan a new Lee Business School and improve campus safety. It also provides $6.2 million to UNR to plan a life sciences building. Money must be committed by June 30, 2027. Any leftover cannot be spent after September 17, 2027, and must revert to the State General Fund.

Upgrades at Nevada colleges by 2029

Western Nevada College gets $1.13 million to improve the Jack C. Davis Observatory. The College of Southern Nevada gets $300,000 to expand the Northwest Campus and its public safety center. Truckee Meadows Community College gets $3.5 million for building improvements. Great Basin College gets $1.91 million to replace HVAC equipment. It also gets $500,000 for building improvements. It also gets $2.16 million to repair parking lots and walkways. The Desert Research Institute gets $1.2 million to install and maintain fire sprinklers. Funds must be committed by June 30, 2029. Any leftover cannot be spent after September 21, 2029, and must revert to the State General Fund.
