Longer licenses and registrations for child care providers

New York now lets child care licenses and registrations last up to six years instead of up to four. This covers licensed day care centers serving seven or more children and group family day care programs. It also covers registered child care providers under section 390. Providers keep the longer term only if they stay substantially in compliance with laws and rules. Beginning one year after enactment, the state Office of Children and Family Services issues licenses and registrations on this six-year cycle.
