Local governments keep investment authority through 2029

The law keeps temporary investment rules for local governments in place through July 1, 2029. Investments a local government buys before that date keep the same conditions even after the law later expires. The law takes effect right away. If it was signed after July 1, 2026, it still applies starting July 1, 2026 so there is no gap.
