Adoptive parents can pay expenses longer

If you are adopting, you may cover certain birth mother costs. Allowed costs are housing, maternity clothes, baby clothes, and transportation. You may pay up to 180 days before birth and through the later of 45 days after birth or 45 days after consent. A court can extend these limits in writing for exceptional circumstances. This applies to New York births, children brought into New York, and New York residents adopting into New York.
