Insurers face deadlines to request money back

Beginning November 1, 2025, Oklahoma law limits late insurer requests to repay claim payments. The deadline is six months after payment to a claimant, or 12 months after payment to a health care provider. Later requests count as unfair claim settlement practices when they violate 36 O.S. § 1250.3. These limits do not apply if the claimant or provider committed fraud that caused the payment, or agreed to refund the overpayment.
