The law extends Oklahoma’s midwifery advisory committee from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2031. The committee advises state health officials on midwife licensing, care standards, complaints, and discipline. Its public member must be a parent whose child was born with help from a licensed midwife or Certified Nurse-Midwife. The law removes the rule barring that member from practicing or having training in health care. The emergency clause provides immediate effect upon passage and approval, while a separate section lists July 1, 2026.
