Stricter rules for unlicensed farm animal care

Beginning January 1, 2031, Oregon tightens rules on unlicensed animal care. Trained but unlicensed workers can no longer perform cattle pregnancy checks. The State Veterinary Board also loses power to make rules that let unlicensed people do certain animal health tasks. Farms and ranches will likely need licensed providers for these services, which can raise costs and reduce hiring options.
