2026 session dates and deadlines set

The law sets the 2026 regular session to begin on February 2, 2026. Committee chairs must schedule work sessions for bills in the chamber where they started by February 9, 2026, and committees must consider those bills by February 16, 2026. For bills that move to the second chamber, chairs must schedule work sessions by February 20, 2026, and committees must consider them by February 26, 2026. These deadlines do not apply to the Joint Committee on Ways and Means; the Joint Committees on Transportation, Transportation Funding, and Transportation Oversight; the Senate Committee on Finance and Revenue; the House Committee on Revenue; the Senate and House Committees on Rules; and the Senate and House Committees on Conduct. This sets the Legislature’s calendar only and does not change taxes, benefits, or services for households.
