The law makes this an official rule for the Senate and House. Anyone who asks for a presession draft must include a short summary of the problem and the fix. This guides internal bill drafting and filing. It does not change taxes or public benefits.
The law sets presession filing dates for the 2027 regular session. Members and committees must request drafts by 5 p.m. on September 11, 2026. Legislative Counsel must deliver drafts by 5 p.m. on December 1, 2026. Requesters must file drafts at the Senate or House Desk by 5 p.m. on December 11, 2026. These deadlines apply to both chambers. The Senate President, the House Interim Committee on Rules, and the Joint Interim Committee on Ways and Means are exempt.
