Contractors face penalties for corrosion work violations

Rhode Island requires corrosion work standards for public contracts awarded after January 1, 2024, using any state funds. The Department of Labor and Training enforces these requirements. Contractors and subcontractors found in violation face civil penalties of $1,500 to $3,000. Intentional or egregious violations can also lead to loss of a relevant professional or occupational license.
