Workers keep broader access to partial unemployment

Rhode Island workers keep the broader partial-unemployment test for weeks beginning on or after May 23, 2021. Workers must work less than full time and earn less than 150% of their weekly benefit rate. That rate is what they qualify to receive when fully unemployed. The law removes the test’s June 30, 2025 end date. This change does not extend the separate 50% earnings-disregard rule, which remains limited through June 30, 2025.
