Casino workers gain smoke-free workplace protections

Beginning July 1, 2025, casinos and pari-mutuel betting facilities must follow the smoke-free workplace rules that cover other workplaces. The law ends their special exemption, extending smoke-free protections to workers and visitors. It also removes the former special rules for smoking areas, ventilation, employee opt-outs, and reporting.
