Higher landing fees for Galilee passengers

Effective upon passage, the law lets Narragansett charge $1 per covered passenger landing at Galilee, up from $0.50. The fee applies to passengers over age 12 arriving by public or private boat. Passengers on commercial fishing vessels and people receiving free transportation under the state's public utility law are exempt. Carriers collect the fee through adult passenger fares. Collection agreements can let carriers or marina operators keep up to 15% of the fee for collection costs.
