Providence can collect more property taxes

For fiscal year 2026 only, Providence can increase its total property-tax levy by up to 8%, above the usual 4% cap. The levy is the total amount the city collects in property taxes. The city does not have to use the full increase. This limit does not set how much any homeowner’s tax bill rises.
