State posts all write-in images

The State Board must post images of every write-in vote for each office on its website. It also posts the total number of write-in votes and the write-ins adjudicated by local boards. Optical-scan machines store images of irregular ballots, and those images are published online.

Stronger review of write-in votes

When total write-in votes could change a race, local boards must review each write-in. They must report the total qualified write-in votes to the State Board. This includes cases within a valid recount margin, and the State Board alerts local boards. After polls close, local boards get the tape or media with images of all written names and send results. A write-in candidate who filed required finance reports, or stayed under the filing threshold, is entitled to adjudication. The State Board sets the review rules.
