New insurance rules for liquor licenses in three towns

The law adds insurance rules for retail alcohol licenses in Burrillville, North Providence, and Westerly. Applicants and licensees must file a certificate of insurance from a Rhode Island-licensed carrier. It must show at least $300,000 in coverage, or more if a town sets a higher minimum. Burrillville and North Providence require general liability and property damage; Westerly also requires liquor liability. The town must be added as an insured, and the policy cannot change or cancel without advance notice.
