Rhode Island presidential primary date changes

The law changes Rhode Island’s date for the presidential preference and delegate primaries. For 2024 only, the election is on April 2, 2024. Beginning the first Tuesday in March 2028, the primary is held that day every four years after. The law takes effect upon passage. This affects voters, parties, and election officials by shifting timelines.
