Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Landlords must share contact info

Before you move in, the landlord must give this in writing. It must list the manager’s name, address, and phone. It must also list the owner or owner-agent for legal papers, with address and phone. This info must stay current, even when owners or managers change. If the person who should disclose fails, they become the landlord’s agent for legal papers and duties, and must use rent to meet them.

Notice when landlord faces foreclosure risk

If the landlord’s mortgage is 120 days late, they must tell you the home may face foreclosure. You must keep paying rent to the landlord until a foreclosure actually happens. This rule applies to mortgaged rental homes.
