Workers can earn more on unemployment

Rhode Island makes permanent the higher partial-unemployment rules. You are partially unemployed in a week if your wages are less than 150% of your weekly benefit rate. When counting wages, the law ignores an amount up to 50% of your weekly benefit rate. Your wages plus benefits for the week cannot be more than 150% of your weekly benefit rate. These rules apply for weeks starting May 23, 2021.
