A BILL TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY AMENDING SECTION 12-37-250, RELATING TO THE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION FOR THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED, SO AS TO REQUIRE THAT A PERSON BE A RESIDENT OF THE STATE FOR AT LEAST FIVE YEARS, INSTEAD OF ONE YEAR, TO OBTAIN THE EXEMPTION.
