Nonresident deer tag fees and limits
Beginning January 2, 2027, nonresidents pay set fees for South Carolina deer tags. The first antlered tag costs $50. Each additional antlered tag (up to four total) costs $20. When you get up to four antlered tags, two must be antler‑restriction tags for deer with at least four points on one antler or a 12‑inch inside spread. Antlerless tags cost $10 each.
Resident deer tags and $5 extras
Beginning January 2, 2027, a South Carolina resident who buys a hunting license and big game permit gets six deer tags. You get three antlerless tags, two regular antlered tags, and one antler‑restriction antlered tag. The restriction tag works only for deer with at least four points on one antler or a 12‑inch inside spread. People under 16, lifetime license holders, and gratis license holders can get the same tags by asking the Department. Residents can also buy up to two more antler‑restriction antlered tags for $5 each, and buy extra antlerless tags for $5 each.
