New rules and fees for veterans' homes

Beginning April 28, 2025, the South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs sets the rules for who can enter and who can be discharged from state veterans' homes. The Department also sets and collects fees for living there and for services. You can choose to assign state or federal benefits to the Department to pay these fees, in full or in part. The law does not set the fee amounts.
