Stricter blue catfish limits in South Carolina waters
Beginning May 15, 2026, you cannot have more than 25 blue catfish in one day in Lake Marion, Lake Moultrie, the Pee Dee River from the North Carolina line to the Highway 301 bridge, and the upper Santee River. In all other South Carolina waters, the daily limit is 150 blue catfish per person. In Lake Marion, Lake Moultrie, the upper Santee River, the same Pee Dee River section, and the Congaree and Wateree rivers, you also cannot have more than two blue catfish longer than 32 inches in a day. These limits are per person per day and cover possession and harvest.
