Beginning July 1, 2026, if you are not the manager of record, are age 60 or older, and have been licensed 30 years or more, you do not have to complete the 4 annual hours. During a declared pandemic or after a natural disaster, the in‑person rule is suspended. You may take your hours by virtual, remote, correspondence, or other formats while those events apply.
Beginning July 1, 2026, every licensee must complete at least 4 continuing education hours each year. At least 1 hour must be ethics in funeral service. At least 2 hours must be done by physical attendance, meaning you are in person at the set location. Online, remote, or correspondence classes do not count toward those 2 in‑person hours.
