State transfers Barnwell armory to county
The state transfers ownership of the National Guard Armory at 10233 Marlboro Avenue in Barnwell to Barnwell County. The Department of Administration, the State Fiscal Accountability Authority, or the proper state agency carries out the transfer. This applies even if other state laws would limit it (Sections 1-11-58 and 25-1-1660). The law takes effect May 19, 2026, upon the Governor’s approval. The law sets no payment terms, funding, or use conditions.
