Tribal personnel gain recognition as law enforcement

South Dakota law now includes tribal officers, prosecutors, and employees in its definition of law enforcement officer when they provide specified help. They qualify when helping enforce state criminal or highway traffic laws. They also qualify when helping prevent, detect, or prosecute a crime committed in South Dakota. This change provides no separate household payment or benefit.
