National Guard gets Sturgis vehicle shop funding

The law gives South Dakota's Department of the Military $30 million in federal spending authority for a Sturgis National Guard vehicle maintenance shop. The department can contract to build, finish, furnish, and equip the shop. Funding covers utilities, design, engineering, and other services needed to build and maintain it. The Bureau of Human Resources and Administration oversees design and construction. The adjutant general approves payment requests, and the state auditor issues payments. Money not lawfully spent or committed by June 30, 2031, reverts under state procedures. The law takes effect immediately upon passage and approval.
