South Dakota updates state highway routes

The law updates the legal boundaries of eight routes in South Dakota’s state highway system. Four routes run from Wyoming to Interstate 90; from Interstate 90 through Sturgis to U.S. Highway 14; from Pierre to U.S. Highway 81; and from Madison to Minnesota. The Pierre route passes through Wessington Springs, Lane, Woonsocket, Artesian, Roswell, Vilas, and Howard. The Madison route passes through Colman and Egan. Four western routes run from Nebraska through Oelrichs to U.S. Highway 18; north from U.S. Highway 18 in Hot Springs to a specified boundary; from Wind Cave National Park’s western boundary through Pringle and Custer to U.S. Highway 16; and northwest from U.S. Highway 16 to U.S. Highway 85. The law sets precise boundaries for these roads but provides no funding or direct household payment.
