South Dakota funds new Highway Patrol airplane
The law provides $5 million from South Dakota’s general fund to the Department of Public Safety for a new Highway Patrol airplane. The money also pays for mission equipment and its installation in the airplane. The department secretary must approve payment requests, and the state auditor must issue payments. Money not lawfully spent or committed returns under state law, chapter 4-8. An emergency clause made the law effective immediately upon passage and approval.
