Hospitals must offer vaccines to inpatients 50+

Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee hospitals must offer certain vaccines to inpatients age 50 or older before discharge. Each year from October 1 through March 1, they must offer a flu shot. They must also offer a pneumococcal vaccine. Offers follow the latest CDC committee guidance and depend on vaccine supply. The shot is not given if medically unsafe, and you can refuse.
