Beginning May 7, 2026, the law replaces Tennessee’s prior congressional map with boundaries for nine districts. It uses 2020 Census map data, listing counties, voting districts, and census blocks to set the boundaries. Areas disconnected from their district’s larger portion join the smallest-population district they touch; connections by water count. These rules change which congressional district represents affected voters. The law specifies no direct change to household taxes, payments, or services.
