Tennessee doctors must complete free nutrition training

Beginning January 1, 2028, covered Tennessee physicians, including osteopathic physicians, must complete at least one nutrition-related continuing education hour. Each physician completes this requirement only once, and the required nutrition education must be available free of charge. The requirement ends January 1, 2033. Both licensing boards have authority to issue rules, including emergency rules, beginning when the law took effect. That rulemaking must follow Tennessee’s Uniform Administrative Procedures Act.
