Handgun exemption expands for Tennessee judges
Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee expands its handgun-related legal exemption to include qualifying judges. Judges must have judicial powers under Tennessee Code § 16-1-101. They must also be authorized to carry a handgun under § 39-17-1351.
