Travelers get help finding adult-sized changing tables

Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee’s transportation department must identify rest areas and welcome centers that have adult-sized changing tables. These are powered, height-adjustable platforms in single-occupancy family restrooms. Signs or markers at these facilities and along nearby interstate and state highways must show that the tables are available. The department adds this information during regular sign replacement or changes, following applicable national and state traffic-sign standards. It must also list these locations on its website. The law does not require installing new changing tables.
