The law sets a $7.50 annual Inspection Program Replacement Fee, added to other fees at initial registration or renewal. It covers motor vehicles, trailers, semitrailers, pole trailers, and mobile homes. The law includes exceptions, but their terms are not provided in this text. Immediate effect required a two-thirds vote of all elected members in each legislative house. Without that vote, the law took effect September 1, 2025.
Owners of travel trailers covered by the repealed rule no longer need that safety inspection. This removes an inspection requirement and related costs, but also removes a safety safeguard. Immediate effect required a two-thirds vote of all elected members in each legislative house. Without that vote, the repeal took effect September 1, 2025.
