More planting help for Utah communities

Beginning May 7, 2025, Utah’s pollinator habitat program becomes permanent, ending its three-year pilot limit and scheduled expiration. Grants can cover up to 75% of planting costs, up from 25%, for pollinator-friendly native flowering plants or seeds on private or public land. Grants are first-come, first-served, depend on available funding, and the Department of Agriculture and Food can set eligibility and application rules. The law also removes the department’s $60,000 yearly cap on plant and seed costs. It provides no new funding, so more spending is not guaranteed.
