Overdose education expands with liability protections

Utah's Division of Integrated Healthcare must create materials that teach people how to recognize a drug overdose. The law sets no deadline for completing them. Beginning May 7, 2025, Utah's training for people selling or supervising on-site alcohol sales must include these materials. Beginning that date, receiving the specified overdose materials does not itself add legal responsibility or liability for recipients or their employers. This protection does not remove other legal duties or liability.
