Preschool teaching counts toward educator license renewal

Beginning May 7, 2025, Utah’s State Board of Education must count qualifying preschool teaching time toward educator license renewal. Cities can fund child care construction

Beginning May 7, 2025, Utah cities and public transit counties can use housing and transit reinvestment zone funds for child care facilities. The money can pay to build or expand facilities inside the zone. These costs can use no more than 1% of total zone funds. The law does not provide direct payments to families.
