Upfront off-road grants for smaller Utah counties

Beginning May 7, 2025, Utah’s Division of Outdoor Recreation can award upfront grants from the Off-highway Vehicle Account. Grants can cover an eligible project’s or program’s entire projected cost. County applicants must be third- through sixth-class counties, which have smaller populations. Agencies and organized user groups—Utah nonprofits—can apply for projects or programs located in those counties. Projects can include trails, trailheads, storage sheds, and water or electric infrastructure serving designated off-highway vehicle areas. Applicants must submit a plan matching an authorized account use; awards are not guaranteed. The Division can review applications submitted on or after January 1, 2025.
