Franchise businesses must disclose on filings
Beginning January 1, 2027, any franchisor or franchisee doing business in Vermont must indicate that status on each filing with the Secretary of State. Filings include initial registrations, amendments, periodic reports, and other required filings. A franchisee must also list the franchisor’s name. The law uses the same meanings of “franchisor” and “franchisee” as federal franchise rules.
