Siting path for fusion energy facilities

The law adds fusion energy facilities to projects that can use Washington’s site certification process. If an applicant opts in, the state’s siting council reviews construction, reconstruction, or enlargement of the facility. Certified fusion projects must still get required radiation control licenses or registrations from the proper agencies. This creates a clear state path to permit fusion projects.
