Beginning June 30, 2025, Washington’s infrastructure coordination team continues without an expiration date. It coordinates state funding programs for drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and broadband projects. The Public Works Board and representatives from Ecology, Health, and Commerce lead the work. The team can include other infrastructure programs, such as transportation and energy, plus users, builders, and industry groups. Its goals include lowering project costs and community disruption, improving durability, meeting local needs, and drawing federal and private dollars. It must plan for long-term changes, review systems, and use lean practices to reduce waste within existing programs. It must brief the board, propose solutions to legal barriers, and report when policy or program changes would improve results. Starting November 1, 2026, reports to legislative committees are required every two years. Reports must cover all projects funded by team members, coordination with other grant programs, funds brought together, and regional planning. The law adds no taxes, new funding, or direct household payments.
