Washington lowers the combined service-connected disability rating needed for veterans’ property tax relief from 80% to 40%. Veterans with a total service-connected disability rating still qualify regardless of their rating percentage. Veterans must be entitled to and receiving Department of Veterans Affairs compensation. They must own their main home and meet the program’s income requirements. The law took effect July 27, 2025, but expanded eligibility applies to taxes collected in 2027 and later.
