Beginning July 27, 2025, people supervised by the Department of Corrections can earn time off supervision for following the rules. You earn 10 days of credit for each full month you are in compliance, as the department decides. Credit builds monthly and only shortens supervision after it is earned. The department must post its credit procedures on its website. Some groups cannot earn this credit, including people with certain special sentences, interstate compact cases, those under a governor’s conditional commutation, parole cases with indeterminate sentences, and those in early‑release community custody. If a court sanctions you for not following community‑custody rules, you lose the ability to earn credits.
