Governor can block outside armed forces

Starting April 21, 2025, outside armed forces need the governor’s OK to enter Washington for military duty. Units called into U.S. active service by the President are allowed without state permission. This rule covers any state, territory, or D.C. force. It gives the governor control over outside armed forces operating here.
