Agencies can update teens’ career training rules

Beginning July 27, 2025, affected Washington agencies can change career education rules and practices based on task force recommendations. Agencies can act before the task force reports or the Legislature acts. Changes must comply with state and federal law. This authority does not itself change eligibility for 16- and 17-year-old students or guarantee changes. It expires June 30, 2027.
