Longer fifth-wheel trailers allowed in Washington

Beginning June 11, 2026, Washington lets fifth-wheel travel trailers up to 46 feet long on public highways. This is an exemption from the general 40-foot limit. Measure length from the center of the kingpin to the very back of the trailer. A fifth-wheel travel trailer is a nonpowered camping trailer hitched in a pickup bed, and the kingpin is the front metal pin that connects it to the truck.
